I wish I had stopped here earlier. It is a GREAT spot. Everyone is so friendly, the kids had a really great time, and the place is very clean and well equipped. Very comfortable place to spend the night!

If you're used to "business class" or better city hotels, you'll find this quite rustic, with its mismatched furniture and glassware, log walls with slightly visible insulation, and gravel parking right outside the door. But these details merely give the cabin a "feel" that is a perfect fit for the location.

The porch and adirondack chairs are very nice, and in good repair. Given the ever present mosquitos (part of the scenery in these parts), you may need a citronella candle, some bug spray or a good, stiff breeze, but tolerating the bugs is a small price for the peace, quiet, and spectacular (yes I used the word twice) view.

Do note, though, that you can't actually see the lake from the Lodge (or the cabins or campground). It's hidden by the forest. There's a boat dock and gravel beach just about 1/2 mile down the road, though. The mountain is hard to miss.

This lodge is not in the heart of Haines Junction, but actually 10-15 minutes outside of it on Hwy 3. If you are looking for one right in the center of Haines Junction there are two available, one is the The Raven. If you don't care about the extra drive (depending on where you are coming from) than I would suggest this lodge. Keep in mind though that they only have bath tubs, sink, and toilet, no shower. However the room did have a refrigerator, heater, and coffee maker.

I didn't try the showers, they are located in the basement of the office/lodge/lounge building, but I heard no complaints from my family members who did shower. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We spent a night here in July this year. Very nice for such a relatively remote location. The view of Mt. Kathleen is spectacular, and the nearby Kathleen Lake is also beautiful.

The cabiins are rustic, but neat and clean. We stayed in #5 and #6. Both had room to sleep 4, and a nice bathroom / tub. The beds are comfortable. No A/C, but that's fairly common this far north. Even in the pretty "hot" weather we were having, it was OK to sleep in. The room had good, heavy curtains, no problem sleeping even though it didn't get dark till after midnight (and got light again very early). Electrical power was limited, as the whole lodge runs off a generator and a solar/battery array, which is actually pretty cool.

This lodge is small, but in good condition. The staff was friendly, and willing to let us check in very late (we arrive after 11pm). I suggest if you want to stay here to make a reservation because they book up quickly in that small area. The cost was reasonable, and had wifi. You could access it, but beyond cabin 4 (there are 6 cabins) the connection is very weak. You may not be able to gain access to the internet, but could easily get it in the cafe without issue.
